The World Doesn't Need Any New New Shit

We are in a state of unfettered consumption fueled by desires impressed upon us. We don’t need any new new products that are made by sourcing completely new non-renewable natural resources, simply put, the planet cannot take it. America contributes 21 billion pounds of post-consumer textile waste to landfills on an annual basis. We have the ability to create new products from recycled and up-cycled fabrics and textiles. By dedicating our energy to create rather than consume, we can begin to discover and utilize new techniques to make new products out of old or unused post-consumer resources.

The  “The World Doesn’t Need Any New New Shit” project speaks for itself. With this project we wanted to approach sustainability in a different way. We wanted to develop a design that would catch people's attention while at the same time detail the issue . This project is the first of many for our graphic apparel sector of the business.  Every year roughly one sixth of federal spending goes to defense(military); within that a great percentage goes into the apparel and clothing for military personal. Much of this apparel is either lightly worn or not worn at all. In order to counter this we are using surplus military grade t-shirts for the collection This is another way we can add to the sustainability factor of the brand. What is unique about these surplus military shirts is that they're not always the same shade which can add another level of uniqueness.
